Fill out a PDF form

Runs on your device — nothing is uploaded

A fillable PDF carries named fields that a reader can type into — name, address, dates, checkboxes, choices. This reads those fields, lets you fill them in the browser, and saves a completed copy. The file never leaves the tab.

Drop your PDF here or click to browse — processed locally, never uploaded

How it works

  1. Add the fillable PDFDrop the form. Field names, types and current values are read and listed so you can see exactly what the document expects.
  2. Fill in the fieldsType into text fields, tick checkboxes, choose from dropdowns and radios. Every change is remembered as you go — the PDF itself is not rewritten until you press Save.
  3. Save the filled copyDownload the completed form, optionally flattened so the values become regular page content and travel safely to anyone, even without a form-capable reader.

What fillable means

A fillable PDF is not a picture of a form — it is a form. The creator gave each blank a name, a type (text, checkbox, radio, choice list) and sometimes a value, and the file carries all three. PDF readers — Adobe, Preview, Chrome — know how to find those fields and let you type, so the file works anywhere even without this site.

Filling changes only the field values. The page content, fonts and images are untouched, so nothing about the layout moves. That is why filling is quick and exact where typing words onto the page is not: you are not placing text, you are answering the question the file asked.

Which fields are handled — and what flattening does

Text fields (single- and multi-line), checkboxes (including one-by-one ticks in a group), radio buttons and dropdown lists (choice fields) are all fillable here. Where a field carries JavaScript or a calculation the script is not run — the value you type is what the file keeps.

Saving can either keep the fields editable (so the recipient can still change them) or flatten them — rewrite the filled values as ordinary page content so the answers become part of the page itself. Flatten for anything you are submitting: an editable field can be changed after you, and some portals prefer a file that looks already completed. Keep editable for anything somebody else still has to fill in.

When the PDF is not fillable at all

Many documents that look like forms are not: a scan of a printed form, a Word export with blank underlines, a contract with dots where a signature goes. Those files contain no fields — there is nothing to enumerate — and filling them needs text placement, not field values. That is what the PDF editor does: add a text box where the blank should be and type your answer.

Two checks before you start: try clicking a blank in your PDF reader — if the cursor lands in it, the file is fillable; if nothing happens, it is a picture of a form. And check whether the file already carries saved values: some forms arrive pre-filled and need the existing answers cleared before you type.

Questions

Is my form uploaded?

No. The file is opened, filled and saved entirely in this tab. There is no server, no account and nothing stored afterwards — you can verify in the network tab while a form is filled.

My PDF looks like a form but has no fields. Can I fill it?

Not with this. That file is a picture of a form, not a form. Use the PDF editor to add text boxes where the blanks should be, or recreate the form as a proper fillable one in the application that produced it.

Can I flatten after filling?

Yes. Flattening writes the field values as ordinary page content and removes the interactivity, so the answers travel safely to any reader and cannot be changed in the field that held them.

Will the filled values print correctly?

Yes. Fields are part of the PDF and print with the page, whether flattened or not, on every viewer and every printer.

Does it handle digital signatures and JavaScript in forms?

Text, checkboxes, radios and choice lists are handled; a certificate-based signature field and any field-level JavaScript (calculations, validations) are not executed — the value you type is kept as is.

Can I save a blank form with my answers cleared?

Clear every field in the list and save without flattening — the file returned is the original form with empty fields, which is the same as having cleared it.
